Advocacy has been a part of Springfield CROP Hunger Walks for several years. During the hour before the walk begins, we write letters to our senators and representatives, urging them to support policies to eliminate hunger and poverty in our world.
In 2011 our letters were written to Senators McCaskill and Blunt and Representative Long urging them to reform foreign assistance so that it is more effective and to also approve a federal budget that provides a circle of protection around effective progams that save lives in our own country and around the world.

Hand-written letters are the most effective! Letters are mailed individually or brought to the walk. Letters written at the walk are hand-delivered to the local congressional offices.
